Enniskeane's Orla Cronin starred for Rebels in fantastic win
ENNISKEANE’S Orla Cronin scored three points as Cork were crowned All-Ireland senior camogie champions in Croke Park today.
Cronin starred in an epic game that saw Julia White from Douglas score a dramatic late winner as Cork dethroned reigning champs Kilkenny, 0-10 to 0-9.
‘I was going on instinct,’ super sub White said afterwards.
‘It was the best feeling in the world, I couldn’t believe it really.’
Cork had lost last year’s All-Ireland final to Kilkenny but they raced out of the blocks at GAA HQ today to lead 0-5 to 0-2 at the break, with Amy O’Connor (2), Orla Cronin, Orla Cotter and Katrina Mackey all on target for the Rebels.
Kilkenny thundered back into the game in the second half to lead by one, 0-9 to 0-8, with six minutes left – but Gemma O’Connor levelled the final before White became the hero of the hour with her superb injury-time winner with just seconds left. Watch it below.
