There's a bad weather forecast for the weekend.

THE Skibbereen Grand League Regatta planned for Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th has been called off by the club's organising committee due to the bad weather and strong winds forecast for the weekend.

The organisers have apologised to all involved for the inconvenience of these events outside of their control.

Over 770 crews had been entered to take part in the two-day regatta at the National Rowing Centre in Inniscarra.

Skibbereen Rowing Club tweeted: 'Unfortunately due to worsening weather conditions+ strong winds forecast, We are now officially CALLING OFF the regatta for the 14/15 April. We thank you all for your entries and are sorry for this inconvenience outside of our control.'
