We have white smoke as JBM's successor is announced
KIERAN Kingston is the new Cork senior hurling manager.
The Tracton clubman has been handed a two-year term, as he succeeds Jimmy Barry-Murphy. He will name his backroom team in due course.
Kingston served as coach with JBM from 2012 to 2014.
The two-time All-Ireland winner was a member of the Cork senior team between 1985 and 1990.
Kingston previously led Tracton to the 2010 county Premier IHC final.
County Chairman Gerard Lane commented: ‘On behalf of the County Board, I would like to wish Kieran all the very best in his new position. He joins a long list of distinguished Cork managers, and brings with him a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach.
‘I would like to thank all the candidates who expressed an interest in the position, and also the members of the appointments committee for their endeavours.’
