There will be big celebrations this week after Kilmacabea's four-point win
Kilmacabea 2-8
Kilbrittain 2-4
TWO FIRST-HALF goals from man of the match Richie O’Sullivan inspired Kilmacabea to a first-ever South West Junior A Football Championship success in Clonakilty this afternoon.
Favourites Kilmacabea enjoyed the dream start and led 2-4 to no score after 20 minutes against Kilbrittain but last year’s junior B county champions fought back to only trail by four at half time, 2-4 to 1-3.
Kilmacabea stretched their lead to six early in the second half before Kilbrittain responded with 1-1 to leave only two points between the teams, 2-6 to 2-4, after 12 minutes of the second half.
Kilbrittain, however, didn’t score again and Kilmacabea added two points to seal a famous win, 2-8 to 2-4, and add a new name to the Mick McCarthy Cup.
