Kealkil forward on the move as he leaves Cork City
CONNOR Ellis has signed a two-year deal with Limerick FC.
The Kealkil man (20) has decided to leave league champions Cork City and has opted to join Limerick FC, becoming the first signing of new manager Tommy Barrett.
Cork City manager John Caulfield commented: ‘Connor told me that he wants to go and get regular game time.
‘The challenge for him is to get to the next level and try and score goals regularly in the Premier Division. Of course, we would have preferred if Connor had stayed here, but we do accept that his wish was to move on and play regularly.
‘On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck for the future.’
The former West Cork Schoolboys League star made 20 league appearances last season as City went on to win the double and he scored five goals in total.
