Ireland's fastest woman popular winner of top award
BALLINEEN bullet Phil Healy was crowned the 2018 Celtic Ross West Cork Sports Star of the Year on Saturday night.
Ireland’s fastest woman was a popular overall winner at the annual awards that celebrate the best West Cork sport has to offer.
In 2018, Phil raced her way into the record books as the holder of the national records for both the 100m and 200m to become the nation’s fastest-ever woman.
The Bandon AC athlete told The Southern Star: ‘This is an absolute honour. We go to various awards around the country but the West Cork Sports Star Awards is the hardest to win, the depth of talent across all sports is incredible, so to be recognised with this award is fantastic.’
