A CROWD of over 80 attended the launch of the newly formed ‘West Cork in Dublin Network’ in Google’s European headquarters.
It was set up by three West Cork friends, based in the capital: Brian McCarthy, Sean Buckley and Liam Hazel.
Brian was the master of ceremonies for the event and the evening began with Liam introducing the network, how the idea began, and the hugely positive reaction to the initiative to date.
Seán then spoke about the vision, goals and objectives of the network.
The guest speaker for the evening, Kingsley Aikens, (former CEO of The Ireland Funds and founder of Diaspora Matters) who spoke on the ‘Importance of Networking’.
The evening wrapped up with a couch discussion with Marie Davis of Google Marketing Solutions, Ireland and Eoin Leonard founder of i3PT, a finalist in the 2018 EY Entrepreneur of the Year.
The attendees on the night included professionals from a diverse range of sectors, including finance, tech, property and construction, legal, insurance, aviation, energy, health, media and government, and with a broad range of experiences from graduates through to managing directors.
Brian said: ‘We were extremely fortunate to have access to such high-quality speakers and are very grateful to everyone for giving up their time to both participate and attend the event.
Liam added: ‘The night was a fantastic success; the attendance was great and more importantly, the eagerness and appetite shown for a network like this was immense.’
