THE West Cork Garden Trail celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion will showcase 25 of the region’s outstanding gardens.
The trail will be launched on Friday May 3rd at Drishane House in Castletownshend where details of all the gardens, from traditional to contemporary, will be unveiled. New additions to the 2019 trail include Blarney Castle, which joins long time favourites such as the world famous Ilnacullin on Garinish Island and the award-winning garden at St Patrick’s Boys national school (pictured) in Skibbereen.
The trail is a major tourist draw to the region, with both gardeners and non-gardeners, and this year is set to attract up to 700,000 visitors. For more see westcorkgardentrail.com.
