A FREE screening of Skibbereen resident David Puttnam’s War of The Buttons, which was shot mainly in West Cork nearly 25 years ago, re-united several of the cast at City Hall.
Organised by Cork Film Festival committee, the screening was held as part of Culture Night with seven of the original cast attending.
They included Gregg Fitzgerald (Fergus), Paul Batt (Gorilla), Gerard Kearney (Big Con) and Eveanna Ryan (Maria), who all shared their memories of shooting the film in various locations in the area almost 25 years ago. Paul told The Southern Star. ‘We are now going to organise a full reunion next April in Skibbereen which will be a brilliant occasion. I’m looking forward to meeting up with the rest of the cast after all these years.’
