STUDENTS at Leap NS have been interviewed on TV after winning a folklore project earlier this year.
The youngsters weare featured on a recent RTÉ’s News2Day programme where they spoke about their success as overall winners of the schools’ folklore project Stories of the Revolution.
The project, organised by Skibbereen Heritage Centre, invited primary school children to collect stories from relatives, neighbours and family friends relating to the 1916-1923 period from this area.
Principal Mary Crowley said: ‘There was great excitement amongst the children when we heard the TV cameras were visiting. It’s great for a small school like us to get this kind of exposure and a great experience.’ she said,
‘And it’s well deserved for the pupils who all worked really hard on this project.’
The News2Day programme can be viewed on RTE Player.
