Part of Oliver Plunkett Street in Bandon from its junction at Brady's Lane to the junction at St Finbarr's Place is to remain closed until January 12th 2019.

CORK County Council has closed part of Oliver Plunkett Street in Bandon with immediate effect following the collapse of a residential  building at No 2 Oliver Plunkett Street earlier this week and it will remain closed until January 12th 2019.

The urgent road closure in the interest of public safety will affect the junction at Brady's Lane to the junction at St Finbarr's Place and diversions are in place for traffic travelling in either directions.

The section of Casement Road which is usually one way from the Oliver Plunkett Street junction, will now temporarily allow local access only from the south side exit point of the one way system section of road.

'You should note that this urgent closure does not facilitate the making of objections/observations. Any queries in relation to same, please contact Bandon Area Office, Cork County Council, Railway Place, Bandon, Co. Cork on  (023) 8841181,' said a council spokesperson.
