Schull-based photographer Sheena Jolley has been shortlisted for a major EU award.
The Federation of European Photographers has selected Sheena as one of 10 finalists in the wildlife section of the European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards 2019.
Sheena confirmed that images that were submitted are all of Irish wildlife including gannets, puffins and foxes. And she told The Southern Star: ‘I am delighted to be highlighting Irish wildlife. There is no place better than West Cork – on the Wild Atlantic Way – to observe wildlife at close quarters.’
Sheena, who has a studio near her home at Coosheen in Schull, has won numerous awards during her long and illustrious career but she will have to wait for the awards ceremony at Innsbruck in Austria on March 16th next to find out the results of this competition.
