AWARD-winning Clonakilty author Louise O'Neill has revealed her fourth novel is a feminist reworking of The Little Mermaid. Publishers Scholastic who commissioned the book, described her interpretation of Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale seen ‘through a searing feminist lens' as a ‘stand out' release of Spring 2018. Â
Louise said: ‘I can't tell you how excited I am about this project or how much I'm relishing the writing process. I have been obsessed with The Little Mermaid since I was a small child so Scholastic made all my dreams come through by commissioning this.'
