Almost two-fifths of people (38%) who took part in our West Cork Love Survey said they had sex either once or twice a week.
ALMOST two-fifths of people (38%) who took part in our West Cork Love Survey said they had sex either once or twice a week, while a third – 33% – said it was more likely to be once or twice a month.
Just 6% said they had sex every day, and just over 1% said they had ‘never had sex’, while almost 3% haven’t had sex for at least five years.
The survey, conducted to coincide with Valentine’s Day, found Inchydoney to be West Cork’s most romantic location. Other popular locations included the Beacon in Baltimore and Lough Hyne.
Although only 18% of those who took our survey rated their partners as ‘very romantic’, more than half – 55% – said their lovers were ‘mildly romantic’. A not-insignificant 27% rated their other halves as ‘not at all romantic’.
Those out to impress this February 14th should note that the most popular love song (according to our survey!) is Perfect by Ed Sheeran. Sheeran, of course, has family links to West Cork, while movies Love Actually, The Notebook and Dirty Dancing are what give us that warm ‘n’ fuzzy feeling.
A strong majority – 77% – of West Cork people surveyed believe that opposites attract when it comes to love.
Interestingly, 27% said that they are still friends with the person with whom they had their first kiss!
