MARYMOUNT is holding its inaugural West Cork lunch at the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen on September 21st next with RTÉ’s Miriam O’Callaghan as guest speaker.
Miriam will be joined by West Cork man, Peter Kelly, who is better known as Franc from the popular Irish version of the hit TV programme, Say Yes to the Dress.
As well as acting as master of ceremonies, Peter will also be on the lookout – amongst the 270 seated guests – to find the best dressed lady who will receive as her prize a two-night stay at the luxury 5-star Europe Hotel in Killarney.
The lunch – which starts with a drinks reception at 12.30pm – is a fundraiser for the university hospital that has 44 palliative care beds.
The Government provides 58% of the annual budget for Marymount, but the €3.5m target set this year represents the shortfall that needs to be raised.
A spokesperson for Marymount said: ‘Demand on our services has increased enormously since the new complex opened in 2011 and we are hoping that this will be a successful event.’
