The daughter of Maureen O'Hara was found dead at her Glengarriff home yesterday.

THE daughter of Maureen O'Hara was found dead in her Glengarriff home yesterday. Bronwyn Fitzsimons, 72, lived at her own home at Reenmeen, Glengarriff, in the village and it is understood that her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Bronwyn's death comes less than a year after the death of her famous mother and screen legend, Maureen who passed away in October.

The daughter of the screen legend lived on her own at 'Angel's Rest' but two friends who attempted to gain entry yesterday had to seek additional help to enter the house. It is believed Bronwyn was found sitting in a chair where she had been watching television.

Suffering from ill-health in recent months, she had many friends in the area, who have expressed their shock at the news.

'She was great fun,' said one. 'And she loved angels – hence the name of her house.'

It is believed that Bronwyn had expressed a wish to be buried locally. Her mother is buried in Arlington Cemetery in the US.
