KINSALE’S Kinari boutique has been awarded a top retail award, beating off stiff competition from over 500 other outlets in the UK and Ireland.
Kinari sells lingerie, hosiery for men and women, shape wear, swimwear, womenswear and accessories from brands across the globe, some of which are exclusive to the West Cork town.
Owner Guny Patel said: ‘This year we were nominated for a Stars Best Shop Award by Underlines magazine, under not one but two categories – Best Newcomer & Best Concept shop. We are proud and honoured to be bringing home to Kinsale the award for Best Concept Shop 2017 out of 500 boutiques in UK and Ireland.’ Kinari was up against some tough competition in this category, including six boutiques in London that have been established for over 10 years.
Guny added: ‘Kinari means ocean/shore in Sanskrit and was created from a vision. I sold my house in the UK and left a successful career in sales to start again in my forties in order to follow a dream. My objective for the boutique is to create a warm, welcoming space, lovely scents and relaxing music to greet you as you walk through the door, spacious changing rooms enveloped in luxurious velvet drapes to create a chic French boudoir feel.’
She said that lingerine ‘should not only look and feel great but essentially offer comfort and support. For me it’s about feeling great from the inside out.’
Kinari also contributed €1000 in aid of this year’s Pink Ribbon charity initiative through the sale of raffle tickets.
