ONE of four identical Skoda cars that were put aside for Pope Francis on his recent visit to Ireland has taken up a temporary home in Bandon and is already proving popular with both car enthusiasts and papal fans.
A navy blue Skoda Rapid – complete with the Vatican City flag and unique identification registration plates – is on display at the showrooms of Finbarr Galvin Ltd in Bandon.
It’s giving customers and onlookers a chance to see one of the cars that Pope Francis was driven around in during his two day visit to Ireland in August.
‘We have it on display here in our showrooms since last Friday and it’s here too for our Open Week, which takes place next week where we will be showcasing our 2019 models,’ said a spokesperson for Finbarr Galvin Ltd.
‘Our customers have been coming in and admiring it and people have been taking pictures of themselves in front of it.’
