A CROSSHAVEN woman’s Michael Tea Higgins tea cosy will be taking pride of place at the annual City Hall Crafts Fair.
Helen O’Leary from Crosshaven, who has sold hundreds of her Michael Tea Higgins tea cosies to date, has also added an orange, yellow and blue presidential ‘Trump’ cosy to her range, which includes Elvis and Daniel O’Donnell.
All her cosies will be on display at the event in Cork’s City Hall on November 24th-26th.
In recent months, her Trump cosy has proved hugely popular, especially as gifts for relatives in the US.
‘I love knitting and crocheting. When I killed yet another house plant, my son Michael joked that I should crochet one, so I did,’ she laughed.
‘I’ve knitted over one hundred Michael Tea Higgins cosies and now Trump is really taking off,’ Helen added.
‘Someone even sent me a picture of a tea-loving friend who was moving abroad and I made a tea cosy in her likeness as a present.’
