THE organiser of last Saturday’s ‘Denis Crowley Memorial Walk’ from Clonakilty to Skibbereen, which was held in aid of West Cork Rapid Response, said he was delighted with the turnout, as well the money raised on the day.
Tadhg Crowley from Skibbereen organised the walk in memory of his well-known father, businessman Denis, who passed away in January. Family members, friends and neighbours all joined the walk at various stages along the way.
‘It was a brilliant day for walking and there was a great atmosphere, and people really enjoyed it. We ended up with over 100 people for the final stretch,’ Tadhg told The Southern Star.
‘We definitely raised over €8,000, which has exceeded our expectations and all the money raised is going to West Cork Rapid Response.’
