GRAHAM Norton will donate his share of the profits from his new GN Sauvingon Blanc 2015 wine to the Dogs Trust Charity in the UK.
The BBC chat show host, and summertime Ahakista resident, who owns 2% of New Zealand winemakers, Invivo Wines, can now add chief wine maker to his list of credentials after he and the team there blended a Sauvignon Blanc.
It’s already proving to be a great success with wine drinkers and critics alike, winning a Silver Medal at the recent London International Wine & Spirit Competition, and a Double Gold Medal at the China Wine & Spirit Awards.
And Irish customers will now get the chance to sample Graham’s work after Cork-based Musgrave Group signed an exclusive deal with Invivo to stock the wine at their SuperValu and Centra stores, from the first week on November.
The company’s profile was raised when Graham mentioned Invivo wine in his most recent biography and it wasn’t long before they approached Graham to develop their own wine with the Bandon native. Pre-orders for the special line reached 4,000 bottles per day last month, with the wine being launched in Australia, the UK and now Ireland.
Tim Lighthouse and Rob Cameron, co-founders of Invivo, travelled to Ireland earlier this year to secure the deal with Musgraves who have over 500 stores.
A video posted by Invivo Wines on their Facebook page shows Graham stomping his own grapes before they starting blending the Sauvignon Blanc. See ‘Invivo Wines’ on Facebook for more.
