DESPITE Irish fears about Brexit, Glenilen Farm, the Drimoleague dairy brand continues to grow its distribution in the UK.
The firm has managed to secure a listing with major UK retailers Sainsbury’s which will involve five of their yoghurt lines.
Sainsbury’s has committed to the brand’s Natural Live Yoghurt & Fruit range, listing three of their 500g big pots in 150 stores, along with two flavours of the iconic glass jar range.
Glenilen Farm first started trading in the UK with Waitrose in 2012 ,along with online retailer Ocado.
The UK market now accounts for 16% of the total turnover of the West Cork business. Alan Kingston commented: ‘We are really proud to partner with one of UK’s premium supermarket chains and we hope Sainsbury’s customers will enjoy our simple farmhouse yoghurt. We have seen great success already in the UK with Waitrose, so we hope to build on that and increase our market share in the highly competitive UK yoghurt category.’
Glenilen Farm is one of Ireland’s most popular dairy brands.
Although best known for their yoghurts, which are also available in Waitrose and Ocado, the company is responsible for a range of family-sized cheesecakes that are also for sale in the UK at Ocado, Budgens and Booths.
