TWO West Cork Islands are for sale, by a prestigious international brokerage firm.
Carbery Island is located at the south-eastern end of Dunmanus bay and, coming with a house, is on the market for just over half a million euro.
The other, Mannion Island, is in sight of Durrus and comes with a price tag of €150,000.
They are both advertised on the website of the private island brokerage specialists Vladi Private Islands.
Carbery Island comprises two plots – a 30 acre island plus an accompanying four-acre island.
The website describes it ‘as a paradise’ and says the Dunmanus bay area offers the ‘Robinson Crusoe feeling’ for island inhabitants.
With a small house, generator and jetty – all of which the seller says may need an upgrade – the asking price is €525,000.
Meanwhile, the €150 000 Mannion Island is accessible from a newly constructed pier that’s just a five-minute walk from Durrus. The website suggests that electricity could be provided to a hypothetical dwelling, via solar panels or a wind-turbine.
