EMERGENCY services earlier attended the scene of an incident in Baltimore where a car is believed to have been involved in a number of collisions in the village.
Around 3.20pm this afternoon a blue saloon car entered the village and collided with a number of locations, including a wall opposite the Top of the Hill hostel.
The car then turned around and drove back into the village and headed for the pier.
The car then stopped suddenly on the pier with one wheel over the edge and the occupant, believed to be the driver, fell into the sea.
The male, believed to be from Co Cork but not local to Baltimore, made his own way back to the pier steps and was helped by locals who comforted him and contacted the emergency services. He was later treated at the scene by the services, before being taken to hospital.
