CORK South West elected Margaret Murphy O'Mahony (FF), Michael Collins (Ind) and Jim Daly (FG). In Cork North West, Aindrias Moynihan and Michael Moynihan, both FF, and Michael Creed FG were elected. Cork South Central has 2 FF, 1FG and 1SF elected.

FF's Cllr Margaret Murphy O'Mahony has topped the poll after the first count at the Cork South West count in Clonakilty, and Labour TD Michael McCarthy and Fine Gael's Noel Harrington have both lost their seats.

 

 

Cllr Murphy O'Mahony was elected on the fifth count, along with Ind Cllr Michael Collins. Fine Gael's Jim Daly TD was elected without reaching the quota.

That means the constituency made history on Saturday February 27th when it elected its first woman - ever - to Dáil Eireann.
