A community-based online radio station in Clonakilty is looking for interviewees for its bi-weekly History Show.

A COMMUNITY-based online radio station in Clonakilty is looking for interviewees for its bi-weekly History Show.

Clonlineradio.com, which is West Cork’s only online radio station, has already proved a hit with listeners since it was launched in the Clonakilty Community Arts Centre in Astna Square, earlier this summer.

Kieran Doyle, who presents the history programme, is looking to meet any individuals or groups who would be interested in speaking on his show about any particular area of history – whether Irish or international.

‘We’ve had some interesting shows already, including the most recent one on the history of protest songs during the Vietnam War and contributions from Cionnaith O’Suilleabháin on the United Irishmen and the Battle of The Big Cross,’ said Kieran.

‘The show goes up every Saturday morning and that schedule is repeated daily for the week. The topics so far discussed on the show range from the history of Clonakilty, to the history of miracles.’

The inaugural Clonline Radio Christmas Party takes place on Friday December 16th at the Community Arts Centre and contributors and listeners are being invited to attend and toast their successful six months of enthusiastic and productive radio. DJ Gary Hannon from the show ‘Gary’s Late Night Cut’, along with Hames, will be providing the musical entertainment on the night, which follows the annual members’ exhibition opening at the Arts Centre.

Anyone interested in contributing to the show is asked to contact Kieran Doyle on 086-1666562 or email [email protected].
