FOLLOWING a warning from Met Éireann about high astronomical tides this weekend, Bantry Business Association has reported that pumps have been deployed in the town, and sandbags will be distributed to the usual locations.
Met Éireann said: ‘We are entering one of the highest astronomical spring tides of the year. Unusually high tides mean coastal flooding is possible in places.’
