A 14-year old boy was airlifted to Cork University Hospital
A teenage boy who was hit on the head by a boom on a boat in Schull Harbour was airlifted to Cork University Hospital at noon on Saturday, June 24th.
The 14-year old was taken to Skibbereen by ambulance where, at Skibbereen Rugby Club, he was transferred onto Rescue 117 helicopter from Waterford and taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
A spokesperson for Valentia Coast Guard said the situation was being treated as an emergency but the boy was doing well with treatment.
