St Patrick's Day “Corker” as two lucky players from the South land almost half a million euros between them on the Lotto
Two lucky players from Cork won almost half a million euros between them on last night’s Lotto draw.
One player from Bandon scooped the €250,000 top prize on Lotto Plus 2 whilst a player from Midleton won a cool €219,472 after matcing 5 numbers on the Lotto Jackpot draw.
The Lotto Plus 2 ticket was purchased at Bandon Books Plus in the Riverview Shopping Centre in Bandon, and the Match 5 winning ticket was purchased in Supervalu in Townspark, Midleton.
Ross Twomey, the delighted owner of Bandon Books Plus, said: 'We are absolutely thrilled at this news. This is the first time we have sold such a big winning ticket. We are a busy shop with a lot of footfall and it is likely that the winner is a local. There was a great buzz around yesterday for St Patrick’s Day and the big rugby match so this has capped what has been a great weekend.'
A National Lottery spokesperson said: 'We are absolutely delighted for our two Cork winners who will have a St. Patrick’s Day they will never forget! What a great way to celebrate our National Day landing this nice crock of gold!

Last night’s Lotto Jackpot of almost €4.7 million was not won. The numbers drawn were: 4,10,13, 22,25,31 and bonus number 30
The winning Lotto Plus 2 numbers were: 5, 14, 18, 21, 34, 42, and Bonus number 22.
