ARTIST Joseph Walsh will welcome over 400 attendees to his newly-added design and workshop space in Riverstick for Making In 2019, which takes place on Saturday 14th September.
Now in its third year, Making In has already become established as an important annual event in the creative calendar, successfully attracting internationally acclaimed architects, designers and curators to Cork to participate in a one day seminar that focuses on making and the thinking that informs the choices made by design professionals.
With the aim of stimulating and challenging the culture of making, and placing Ireland at the centre of a valuable creative dialogue, the event is presented in the unique working environment of Joseph Walsh Studio.
Consisting of a series of presentations and in depth panel discussions, this year’s speakers are some of the most profound and exciting voices in international design today.
They include Charles Renfro, partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, whose work includes the High Line and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts redevelopment, New York; The Broad, Los Angeles and Zaryadye Park, Moscow as well as Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara,.
For all design enthusiasts, professionals, academics and students, Making In is an opportunity to hear global creative voices, and great communicators, discuss making, their work and their ideas in the unique environment that is Joseph Walsh Studio.
