A TECHNICAL writing and information-management company headquartered in Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh has been named one of Ireland’s best places to work.
Bárd na nGleann was chosen the small business category in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list, which recognises companies that prioritize employee well-being, engagement, and development.
Founded in 1999 by Tom Fitzgerald, Bárd was a pioneer of the remote work model long before it became the norm. The company celebrates its 25th anniversary under the leadership of Tom’s son William.
‘Our business model, with 100% remote work and flexible hours, have really been the backbone of our longevity in terms of employee tenure,’ said William Fitzgerald, managing director of Bárd. ‘This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, but also to the strong values and sense of belonging that has grown over time.’
Carole Wynne, head of marketing and communications added, ‘We have a culture of transparent and compassionate communications, with a flexible remote working model and an environment where our people can thrive and feel valued. It’s a huge achievement, and it goes a long way to explaining why our people stay with Bárd so
long.’
Bárd’s approach to business has attracted multinational tech giants such as Google, Cisco, and SAP and a global presence with employees and clients worldwide.
